I have lived in the Evansville Area all my life, minus two years when I served in the Army. I met Della at the First Baptist Church (which is now Oak Grove Church) in 1964 and 2 years later, on November 12 we were married. We had 4 children Cathy Franklin Nevel, Angie Franklin Wienke, and twin boys, Donald and Phillip. Phillip was taken from us in a car bike accident in October of 1983. I enjoy singing. I belong to the Gideons and enjoy distributing Bibles to motels and hotels and passing out New Testaments to children at the various schools.

My late wife, Rose, and I raised two sons who are now college students. Our paths have been guided by our providential God while we follow Jesus Christ and receive His grace to help in our times of need.

I am honored to serve as an elder at Oak Grove Church to serve and aid those who attend OGC in their journey through this world with its joys, sorrows and challenges.
As the Psalmist encourages us, “You guide me with your counsel, and afterwards you will receive me to glory.”

“…so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11)
