Missions, Evangelism & Outreach Team

We are so pleased that you’ve taken a moment to invest in what God is doing at Oak Grove Church, the community of Evansville and in the lives of those overseas in the foreign mission field.

WHO are we?
“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”  Romans 12:4-5 ,1 Corinthians 12:12-27

As members of the body of Christ we all serve different roles and bring to the body our own special gifts. This is true of all those presently serving on the Missions Leadership Team. Each of us brings to it a special dynamic of where God currently has us in life; whether it is mom, teacher, retiree, businessperson, tradesperson or student.

WHAT do we do?
Mission Statement: We will partner with God to draw unbelievers into a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ, locally and internationally.

The team continues to strengthen existing partnerships with missionaries and care receivers. Each team member takes ownership for faithfully praying for a specific ministry partner or care receiver.  We strive to grow a missional mindset within OGC, by promoting our Missions & Outreach initiatives and by providing opportunities for members to participate in those initiatives or short-term mission opportunities.   We also provide administrative leadership and support for missionary nurturing, training, preparation and raising-up Oak Grove missionaries.

Randy & Annette Hillebrand

While their home is in Kiev, Ukraine, the Hillebrand’s serve throughout Ukraine, Eurasia and Asia.  Their mission is to make disciples, strengthen pastors and ministry leaders and to build up the local church.  Randy teaches at a number of different venues and Annette’s book ministry is making a difference in the lives of many.

Erica Dorsey

Papua New Guinea

Erica is a home-grown missionary.  She grew up in our church and left for a medium-term mission with New Tribes Mission (now called Ethnos360) to Papua New Guinea in February 2013.  In the fall of 2018 she made the transition to full-time vocational ministry and received appointment as a career missionary with Ethnos 360.  Erica serves in the Lapilo business office as the Finance Manager for NTM in PNG and supports church planting work to unreached people groups.

Our Care Receivers

Bintou Sidibe, from Mali, Africa & Gideon Arpong from Ghana, Africa, both receive support from Oak Grove Church through World Vision. To learn more about this important ministry visit  their website.

Our Local Ministries

Oak Grove Church is committed to being the hands and feet of Christ locally as well as regionally and abroad.  We support the following local ministries that show the love of Christ in practical ways.
The Evansville Care Closet is an ecumenical effort that includes a thrift store and a food pantry.
In May and December, the congregation of Oak Grove Church accepts the responsibility of delivering meals to those who receive Meals-On-Wheels.
Oak Grove Church presents a monthly worship service for the residents, and we also assist with the Evansville Manor nursing home birthday parties twice a year.
Oak Grove Church actively promotes the sanctity of human life through participating in volunteer outreach ministries at Care Net, along with assistance in fundraising through the annual Baby Bottle Campaign.
Evansville AWARE’s Back-to-School
Our congregation participates in this annual outreach by supplying backpacks and school supplies for families in need.
Food & Refreshment Without Price
Because Jesus invites us to come to Him freely without price, we serve a home-cooked meal and extend the love of Christ on the 1st Saturday of each month at the Evansville Care Closet during the months of May through October.
